With all of the rain this morning near Carencro, I head a loud truck out front and it was a dump truck from Lafayette Utilities Systems helping evacuate my neighbors.

My neighbors, who have a small baby, also have a car low to the ground. Thus, when they felt that it was time to retreat to higher ground, they called for help!!

LUS workers, and a police officer, showed up in the huge truck and were able to help evacuate my neighbors. I watched as they carried the child and helped with luggage.

I personally want to thank all of the men and women helping out those in need during this very difficult time.

Job well-done!!!
