Mahtook Called Up By Rays

Former LSU Tiger and St. Thomas More standout Mikie Mahtook is in the big leagues.

The Tampa Bay Rays have called up the 25 year old Mahtook as a replacement for John Jaso, who has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Mahtook helped lead LSU to the national championship in 2009.  He had a tough spring training with just three hits in 15 plate appearances.

Hopefully Mahtook will be able to make the most of the opportunity.
