Did a person get shot Friday night at a business in the 1300 block of 12th Street because of a picture he posted to a social media site?

That's just one of the questions arising after a robbery last night not long before midnight.

Lafayette Police spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says the victim told officers that two black males wearing black clothing with white t-shirts covering their faces went into the business with handguns as he was sitting inside. When he tried to run away out of the back of the business, officers say one of the suspects fired multiple shots, hitting him in the back. The suspects then allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash and got away on foot.

Turns out twenty minutes before the robbery happened, according to responding officers, the victim had posted a picture of himself on a social media site which showed him sitting with a large amount of cash.

The victim is listed in stable condition in the hospital.
