VILLE PLATTE, La. (AP) — State police say a Mamou man has been arrested following a hit and run investigation that left a 30-year-old man dead.

Trooper Stephen Hammons says 32-year-old Kenneth Romero was booked Thursday night with for vehicular homicide and felony hit and run.

Hammons said 30-year-old Johnaton Ben, also of Mamou, was killed Oct. 19 while he was walking east on La. Highway 104.

The crash remains under investigation.

It was unclear whether Romero has an attorney.
