ROUND ROCK, Texas - The man accused of abducting two girls out of Texas was previously arrested for murder in Calcasieu Parish, authorities say.

Terry Allen Miles, 44, has a long criminal history and faced jail time for second-degree murder in Sulphur in 2011, KPLC reports.

Miles now could face more charges after police in Round Rock, Texas say he took off with 14-year-old Lilianais Victoria Cake Griffith and 7-year-old Luluvioletta Mariposa Bandera-Magret after the girls' mother was found dead in a home while police conducted a welfare check on Sunday.

Police identify the girls' mother as 44-year-old Tonya Bates.

Police say Miles was living with Bates at the time of her death and believe he may be connected to her death. Police do not know of a motive at this time.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. this evening, Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks held a press conference, alerting the public that Miles is a person of interest at this time and their main priority is to bring the girls home.
