Man Accused Of Hit And Run In St. Mary Parish

A Westwego man was arrested last night after deputies say they man ran his car into a field and hit two phone junction boxes along with a fire hydrant.

While they were making their way to the scene deputies got a call that Michael Spry left the scene in another car.

Another deputy says they found the suspect in a car they was found at a business on Highway 182 in Amelia.

Spry told deputies he lost control of the car, and he drove it into the field.

He was arrested for reckless operation of a vehicle and hit and run driving.
