A Lake Charles man already facing cruelty to juveniles charges was arrested again on similar charges for another child.

A Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson reported 22-year-old Harold Senegal was arrested after his two-month-old son was airlifted to a Baton Rouge hospital for trauma to his head.

Doctors confirmed the infant had a fractured skull, multiple brain bleeds and retinal hemorrhaging, as well as rib fractures that has already began to heal.

Senegal told police a video game controller fell on the child's head two weeks ago. He alos said he tripped while carrying the baby and fell on top of him. Another alibi Senegal told was that he had squeezed the baby's stomach in an attempt to relieve gas.

Investigators determined the child's injuries were inconsistent with Senegal's alibis.

The suspect had been released from jail on a $175,000 bond for juvenile cruelty charges stemming from a 2014 incident. He was arrested again, this time, booked into the Calcasieu Parish jail, where he remains in lieu of $750,000 bond.

In 2014, Senegal was arrested when a local hospital contacted the Sheriff's Office about a 5-week-old girl who had sustained multiple skull fractures.

Senegal and the child's mother were arrested on juvenile cruelty charges.
