A Franklin man has been arrested after deputies say he was trying to sell a stolen motorcycle over the internet.

Deputies say a man who was trying to buy the motorcycle found it that it had been stolen so he called deputies at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.

A deputy says they determined that 27-year-old Desmond Francis was the man trying to sell the motorcycle so he was charged with illegal possession of stolen things.

He was then arrested on a warrant because he failed to appear in court on a charge of reckless operation of a vehicle.

A deputy says during the interview, Francis admitted that he knew the motorcycle was stolen when he tried to sell it.

He was released from the St. Mary Parish Jail after posting a $3,000 bond.
