A disturbance at a bar Saturday night in Lake Charles has left a DeQuincy man brain dead according to police.

Lake Charles Police says the victim is 30-year-old Chad Babineaux

Police say 19-year-old Auston Soileau was booked on a charge of second-degree battery.

Deputy Mark Kraus said Babineaux, who was an employee at the bar "On The Rocks", might have been trying to stop some sort of argument between several people when he was hit Saturday night.

Babineaux was declared brain dead Sunday.

Soileau is being held in the Calcasieu Correctional Center.  His bond has been set at $50,000.
