Man Charged In Lafayette Woman’s Death

24-year-old Adam Batiste is charged with 2nd Degree Murder after 18-year-old Gabrielle Spencer of Lafayette has died in the hospital from serious injuries to her body.

Lafayette Police say Spencer was found Wednesday in Morning Glory Square with severe bruises all over her body. Corporal Spokesperson Paul Mouton says Batiste was living at the home. His charges were upgraded from Attempted 2nd Degree Murder after Spencer passed away.

Police are continuing to investigate.
