Man Convicted Of Killing 2; Bodies Found In Trunk

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A Baton Rouge man has been convicted in the 2011 drug-related slaying of a woman and her boyfriend.

The Advocate reports 33-year-old Patrick James Ramirez will face a mandatory term of life in prison when state District Judge Mike Erwin sentences him July 17.

Jaydee Wright said Friday his sister, 27-year-old Latonya Wright, can finally rest in peace now that Ramirez has been found guilty of two counts of second-degree murder. Ramirez was also convicted of slaying 28-year-old Jarrett Stanley, of Lake Charles.

The couple's bullet-riddled bodies were found Feb. 7, 2011, in the trunk of a car.

Another man, 32-year-old Kendrick Deandre Johnson, of Baton Rouge, also is charged in the case. His next court date is Aug. 6.
