Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies gave CPR to a man they found lying in the front yard of home on Corrine Street last night.

While they tried to help the man, it was fruitless. Officials say they have not yet released the name of the victim who died at the scene after being shot.

They are still looking for the suspect in this case who was seen from the scene of the shooting on Corrrine Street towards the area of Robertson Street.

People that were in that area told sheriff's detectives that it looked like the victim was running to get away from the black male suspect when the shots were fired that took the victim's life.

The suspect was said to last be seen wearing a white muscle shirt, and he was wearing dark colored pants.

Deputies say the name of the victim will be released by officials with the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office at a later time following notification of next of kin.

Detectives are asking for any information they can get about this case.

If you can provide information about the shooting last night in the 600 block of Corrine Street, you are urged to call the Iberia Parish Crime Stoppers line at 337-364-TIPS.
