Man Found Dead Inside Burning Car South Of Chalmette

CHALMETTE, La. (AP) — The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office has identified the man found dead inside a burning car as Christopher Campbell.

Deputies tell The Times-Picayune Campbell was found inside a burning Ford Mustang Tuesday night on the La. Highway 46 Extension south of Chalmette.

An autopsy was performed Wednesday, but deputies have not released a cause of death. Nonetheless, they say the death is being handled as a homicide.
