LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — A Lake Charles jury deliberated for more than three hours before returning a guilty verdict in a 20-year-old aggravated rape cold case.

The American Press reports that prosecutors used DNA to connect 39-year-old Jonathan Frank to the 1994 rape. Aggravated rape carries a mandatory life sentence.

The victim testified Wednesday that she awoke to find a man over her with a knife to her throat in the early-morning hours of Sept. 10, 1994.

Jurors posed questions to Judge Kent Savoie four times, asking him to clarify the possible verdicts, to see evidence and for more information about the DNA sample. The jurors went out at 3:30 p.m. Thursday and returned at 6:40 p.m. with an 11-1 guilty verdict.
