A man accused of killing his stepdad in an argument has been indicted. On August 11, Jennings Police say Sterlyn Vital was arguing with his mom. His stepdad, Gary Hawkins called the police and had him escorted out of the neighborhood. Within a half-hour later, authorities were called back to the scene where they found Hawkins trapped under the stepson's car. A witness on scene said gunshots were heard and Vital was seen in the car accelerating toward his stepdad. Gary Hawkins died on the scene. If convicted, Sterlyn Vital faces life in prison.
