LULING, La. (AP) — A 20-year-old Luling man is in custody after he allegedly shot and killed his father during an argument.

St. Charles Parish sheriff's investigators say Stanley Robinson Jr. was arrested Thursday on a charge of second-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Stanley Robinson Sr.

Robinson is being held in the parish jail. Bond information was not immediately known and it was unclear if he has an attorney.

It was not immediately known what sparked the confrontation. Authorities say the men were in their home when they began arguing.

A woman, who also lives in the house, told investigators she was in the bathroom at the time but could hear the men fussing. She says she then heard three shots and called 911 just before 9 p.m.
