Man Killed Last Night After A Shooting In Rayne

Update 10:00 A.M.

The Chief of Police in Rayne has now released the name of the man who died after a shooting this morning.  His body was found on Reynolds Street.  Alfor Charles Wheeler, 22-years-old, lived at 604 Bailey Avenue in Rayne.

Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly says that his office is investigating a shooting last night that happened in the 700 Block of Reynolds Street that left a Rayne man dead.

Around 9:30 Tuesday night, Rayne officers were called after shots were heard on Reynolds Street.  The victim was found in the 700 Block of Chappuis Street.

Cheif Stelly says the identity of the man who was killed will not be released until next of kin can be notified.
