Man Pleads Guilty To Fracturing Child’s Skull

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — A 32-year-old Calcasieu Parish man who authorities say struck his 1-year-old son so hard that he caused a skull fracture has pleaded guilty to second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.

The American Press reports Chad Daigle entered his guilty plea before state District Judge Ron Ware on Wednesday

Jonathan Blake, a prosecutor with the Attorney General's Office, says Daigle hit the boy on June 23, 2013, striking him so hard that his skull and jaw were fractured and he suffered bleeding on the brain.

Ware will sentence Daigle on June 25, after the results of a presentence investigation are returned.
