LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — A 41-year-old Sulphur man accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with children attending church-related functions at his home has been sentenced to prison.

The American Press reports that Michael Anthony Thibodeaux pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles. One of the counts was amended from sexual battery, and another sexual battery charge was dismissed.

State District Judge Ron Ware sentenced Thibodeaux to seven years in prison on each count to run concurrently. Three years of the sentence was suspended, and he will have to serve the remaining four years without the benefit of parole.

Prosecutors told Ware that Thibodeaux had inappropriate contact with two children — one under the age of 13 and the other older than 13 — between January 2007 and June 2009.
