Louisiana State Police Troop I Spokesman Thomas Gossen says his agency has booked a 19-year-old with several charges following an incident on October 9th in which a Lafayette officer shot the man, Keion Bonner, when the officer responded to criminal activity.

State Police detectives arrested Bonner on the following charges:

Aggravated assault on a police officer

Possession of a stolen firearm

Illegally carrying a weapon.

Lafayette Police were called out to the 400 block of Hilda Street that night to respond to a report of a crime.

While in pursuit the officer fired once, hitting the suspect.

Bonner was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening wounds.
