WAVELAND, Miss. (AP) — A 17-year-old man sought on a warrant in connection with a November slaying in New Orleans has been arrested in Mississippi.

Waveland, Miss., Detective Eddie Peterson tells the Sea Coast Echo that the man was arrested Tuesday under warrant from New Orleans for first degree murder and carjacking.

Authorities say 27-year-old Fernando Eyzaguirre was shot to death in the parking lot of an Algiers, La., strip mall on Nov. 29.

Eyzaguirre's vehicle was stolen during the incident and was discovered parked on the side of the road Waveland on Nov. 30.

The man was booked at the Hancock County jail under a hold from New Orleans. Louisianaofficials are expected to seek extradition.
