A deputy stopped the driver of a car seen speeding on Highway 90 in Berwick, and the traffic stop led to a drug arrest.

The officer spoke to the driver, 28-year-old Jovi Guidry and to the passenger, 25-year-old Johnny Smith, and he smelled marijuana.

Not only did he smell marijuana, but the deputy also saw pieces of marijuana on Smith.

The deputy found over a pound of marijuana, rolling papers, two grinders and a digital scale.

Smith and Guidry were arrested for possession of marijuana, and Guidry was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
