BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Jury selection is underway in the first-degree murder trial of a 33-year-old Baton Rouge man accused in the 2009 arson-related slaying of his grandfather.

Dustin Musso is charged in the death of 76-year-old Peter Musso Jr. on May 5, 2009, at the elder Musso's home.

The Advocate reports an autopsy revealed Peter Musso suffered trauma to his head and smoke inhalation.

Dustin Musso faces life in prison if convicted in his grandfather's death. Prosecutors took the death penalty off the table in order to expedite the case and try him this year.
