Man Trying To Open Door Prompts Emergency Landing

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say a passenger on an AirTran flight tried to open an emergency exit on the plane, prompting the flight to be diverted to an airport in Memphis, Tenn.

An airline spokesman tells a Memphis TV station (WREG-TV) that the plane was flying from Baltimore to Austin, Texas Monday evening when the passenger became unruly.

The passenger was interviewed and the plane was checked before continuing its flight. There's no word on if charges will be filed.
