This past Sunday, a man on an overbooked United Airlines Chicago flight headed to Louisville, Kentucky was violently, forcibly removed from his seat and thankfully it was caught on video.

United Airlines asked passengers to give up seats to accommodate crew members because the flight was overbooked. They offered volunteers incentives like free hotel accommodations and travel vouchers for free flights in exchange for giving up their seats. No one volunteered, so the airline randomly chose four passengers to give up their seats. This man refused to give up his seat after his name was called, so they decided to have him forcibly removed.

United Airlines released this statement found on courier-journal.com -

"Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was overbooked. After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate.

We apologize for the overbook situation. Further details on the removed customer should be directed to authorities."
