The Lafayette Police Department reports that they have concluded that the man, whose body was found Saturday morning in the Vermilion River, died from accidental causes.

Lafayette Police Spokesman Corporal Karl Ratcliff says that 43-year-old Jason Horton of New Iberia died from an accident, and investigators ruled out any foul play.

Horton's body was found at 9:30 Saturday morning in the river near Shadow Bluff and Lajaunie Road.
