Duson Man Arrested For Allegedly Strangling Woman

31-year-old Marcus Rougeau is behind bars after a witness says he was on top of a woman, strangling her.

Eunice Police Department Deputy Chief/PIO Varden Guillory Sr. says the alleged attack happened on the 400 block of MacArthur Street. Officers in the area arrested Rougeau on a charge of Domestic abuse battery by strangulation.

Police say the victim was found in the complex suffering from injuries to her throat and left eye area.

Rougeau appeared before a judge Monday morning. His bond was set at $10,000.00.

Rougeau is also being detained for an outstanding warrant from the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office for felony theft and the Louisiana Department of Probation & Parole has also placed a hold on him.
