Maybe It’s Time For Joe Biden To Go
I have said many things over the course of the last three years and one of them that has been consistent has been just how humorous Vice President Joe Biden is. He has stuck his foot in his mouth more times than anyone in American political history. This is a guy that is making us think twice about Dan Quayle's spelling of potato (or is it potatoe?).
But as we go along, we are getting more and more of a taste of what Joe Biden is like. Yes, we all see that he is kind of like that uncle at the family get together. Everyone wonders what "old Joe" is going to say, but we all love having him there. But, the more we go along I am wondering if that is the kind of person you want to have a heartbeat away from the Presidency.
Take for example, the recent things that Vice President Biden has said. Biden decided to invoke Paul Ryan's late father to question if Paul Ryan has the right values. Then was the more infamous statement that he made.
Then there was today's Biden gaffe that suggested that we are leading the automotive industry in the 20th Century. The only problem with that is that we are 12 years into the new century. Would someone please let the Vice President know that he can join us in the early 21st Century?
Top that off with Rudy Giuliani wondering aloud to CNBC's Larry Kudlow if Biden was fit for the Presidency.
I’ve never seen a vice president that has made as many mistakes, said as many stupid things. I mean, there’s a real fear if, God forbid, he ever had to be entrusted with the presidency, whether he really has the mental capacity to handle it. I mean, this guy just isn’t bright. He’s never been bright. He isn’t bright. And people think, ‘Well, he just talks a little too much.’ Actually, he’s just not very smart.
This is something that was alluded to in papers found in the bunker where Usama bin-Laden was found that said he wanted followers to take out the President so that an "unprepared" Joe Biden would be forced into leadership.
My conclusion in the midst of all of this is that Joe Biden should not continue on as Vice President. People around the world are recognizing that this is not the guy to be a leader in this nation. While some things that he says are just a natural tongue slip, it shows that this is clearly someone that belongs more at a family get together where you wonder what he's going to say, than a step away from the White House and we all get to wonder what he is going to do if, heaven forbid, something happens to the President. That would mean not only that Obama takes him off the ticket, but also that Biden step aside so someone that we can all take with some more seriousness can step up and be there for us. That is the best way that America can be taken seriously in the world if we are willing to have serious leaders in the top two seats of power.
