Mayor Durel To Inaugurate New Petanque Court And Annual Tournament
Lafayette, March 17, 2011 – Alliance Française de Lafayette invites all to attend its 3rd annual International Petanque Tournament to be held in Lafayette on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, 20, 2011, at Girard Park.
Mayor Joey Durel will inaugurate the new petanque court and the children’s tournament on Saturday at 12:30pm. The new court was recently installed jointly by Alliance Française de Lafayette , La Boule Cadienne de Lafayette petanque club and the Recreation Department of the Lafayette Consolidated Government. The children’s tournament is partly sponsored by Les Amis de L’immersion, a parent-teacher organization supporting French immersion students in Lafayette Parish Schools.
Sunday, March 20th, adult players will compete from10 am until 5 pm.
