MURRIETA, Calif. (AP) — The mayor of Murrieta, California is asking residents to fight a plan to fly migrant families from Texas for processing at a border patrol facility in the city.

Mayor Alan Long says border officials have told him that a flight carrying 140 people is expected today.

Migrants will be processed at the facility and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Long acknowledges that the migrants will not be released locally and do not have criminal records.
