McAllister Not Asking For Video Leak Investigation
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Vance McAllistersays he won't seek an FBI investigation of who leaked a video from his congressional district office that showed him kissing a married woman who isn't his wife.
The Republican congressman's office released a statement Wednesday saying McAllister "is focused on earning back the trust of those he has disappointed," rather than an investigation.
The Ouachita Citizen posted what it said was Dec. 23 surveillance video from inside McAllister's congressional office in Monroe, showing McAllister and a member of his staff kissing.
McAllister spokeswoman Jennifer Dunagin says the woman in the video, Melissa Peacock, "voluntarily resigned" after the video was released.
The congressman, a political newcomer who ran with the high-profile support of the members of the "Duck Dynasty" family, is up for re-election in November.
