The Ragin' Cajuns needed a win in San Marcos, but they did more than just beat the Texas State Bocats. They dominated them.

Defensively, the Cajuns shut down quarterback Tyler Jones and the Bobcats. The Cajuns converted two Texas State turnovers into touchdowns, and they never let the Bobcats reach the endzone. It was homecoming in San Marcos, but the Ragin' Cajuns crashed the party.

Head Coach Mark Hudspeth's team posted 401 total yards, but more impressively, they held Texas State to only 221 yards on offense.

"Defensively, I don't know if you can play much better," Hudspeth said after the win.

Speaking of parties, Elijah McGuire threw two parties in the endzone to go along with 112 rushing yards. He looked more like himself, after dealing with injuries all season long, displaying refreshing burst and shiftiness. The Cajuns carved up the Bobcats on the ground, racking up 236 yards rushing on their way to an easy victory in Sun Belt play.

After an early interception that went off Keenan Barnes' fingertips, Anthony Jennings played a clean game. He completed 18 of his 22 pass attempts, and he even found Barnes for a little redemption for his only touchdown of the game. It was Barnes' fifth score of the season, which leads all Cajun receivers by a long shot. He's quickly turning into a touchdown machine in the redzone.

Barnes wasn't the only promising youngster to make an impact. Joe Dillon might be a freshman, but he's not playing like one. He entered the game leading the team with five sacks, and he collected two more, taking down Tyler Jones and harassing him all night long.

The Cajuns collected three sacks and nine tackles for a loss in their best defensive performance of the season. With the win, they improved to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the Sun Belt Conference. It was the perfect way to start the second half of the season. Can the Cajuns turn the ship around?
