Mechanic Crushed While Working On A Garbage Truck In Metairie

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a mechanic who was crushed while working on a garbage truck in Metairie.

Col. John Fortunato says Jose Romero of Kenner was killed Tuesday evening.

Fortunato says another worker began moving the garbage truck, not realizing the victim was under the vehicle.
