“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which airs from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 FM KPEL, gives Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about!

On Sunday’s show, Tiffiany Decou, “The Lafayette Food Junkie,” and Chef Zach Doise with “LaStreat” food truck talked about a variety of topics, including the Pig and Plough Dinner on Sunday, February 23, what restaurants are open for Mardi Gras and the upcoming Heartstrings and Angel Wings Gumbo Cook Off at Henry Guidry Memorial Park in Henderson on Saturday, March 8th.

They also spoke with Lafayette native Chef Chris Wadsworth, named a Top 5 Louisiana chef to watch in 2013 and Top Chef competitor. He is the owner and creator of Triumph Kitchen in downtown Baton Rouge, "a Non-profit education venue serving as a training facility for at risk youth in learning culinary, hospitality and life-skills to build successful futures." They also talked about how much the Lafayette food scene has changed since he left to found Triumph Kitchen and compares the food scenes among Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Listen below to the show for much more of their insights:
