Major Eddie Thibodeaux has taken the reins as Public Information Officer for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office.

And the changes are already being seen.

St. Landry Parish's Crime Stoppers has garnered a strong following on social media and news outlets in Acadiana.

Thibodeaux says he has turned to Facebook to further disseminate news about St. Landry Parish's law enforcement scene.

He said you can now find more than just the weekly Crime Stoppers video on his department's Facebook page. He, and his staff, have revamped the site to include arrest reports, photos of wanted fugitives and information on other crimes not featured on the highly anticipated weekly videos.

Though Thibodeaux has made his presence felt by making some significant changes to the PIO position, he remains modest by focusing on the faces on the front lines.

"I'm only the spokesman," Thibodeaux said. "The real men and women of Crime Stoppers are the dispatchers, patrolmen and the detectives."
