Memorial Day Tribute For Louisiana’s Fallen Soldiers

This Saturday at 10am will be a day of honor for all of Louisiana's fallen heroes who gave their lives in the pursuit of freedom. Behind the tribute is the Vietnam Veterans of America, Acadiana Chapter 141.

They will be sponsoring the event that will honor the families of those who've given their lives in combat.

Some of the honors include a balloon launch, reading of the names, and a folding of a memorial flag.

Following the event, a meal will be provided and the event is completely open to the public.

This year Gold Star families, which are families with fallen soldiers, will be eligible for a grand prize drawing of an overnight stay at a local bed and breakfast, dinner, and event passes.

Veterans are encouraged to attend in uniform.

The location of the event is at 300 N. Dugas road here in Lafayette.
