Men Identified In Lafayette Shooting

The two men involved in last night's shooting on Bernice Avenue have been identified. Lafayette Police say the two men were brothers, Michael (Lafayette) and Danny Granstaff (Sulphur Springs, Texas). Corporal Paul Mouton says as they were arguing, Danny allegedly grabbed a handgun and fired multiple shots at his brother. Mouton says Danny then discharged the gun one last time, shooting himself in the leg. Michael died on the scene. Danny is in the hospital in stable condition. Police are still trying to figure out what caused the disturbance. Danny Granstaff faces 2nd degree murder charges. Authorities will continue to investigate.
