Michael Jordan Stelly Booked On Vehicular Homicide Charges In A St. Landry Parish Man’s Death

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s office says that Michael Jordan Stelly has been arrested on charges related to the case of a hit and run that happened on June 8th. Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says,
“During the early morning hours of June 8, 2012, Michael Jordan Stelly was operating a motor vehicle on Meche Road in Arnaudville, LA. Stelly’s vehicle struck Boone while he was conducting his routine morning walk. Boone was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Today Stelly was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on charges related to the pedestrian fatality of Sherwin James Boone.
Sheriff Guidroz added,
“After receiving toxicology results from the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab, it was learned that Stelly was operating his motor vehicle while under the influence of amphetamine and methamphetamine. It was also learned that Stelly was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit by his own admission.”
The charges against Stelly are as follows:
- speeding
- operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance
- vehicular homicide
