Final preparations for the annual Middle Child's Day festivities are underway, complete with a parade through the streets of downtown Lafayette.

Oh wait.

City-Parish President Joey Durel didn't get the memo?

Great.

Dont' worry. All the materials you could possibly need to celebrate the big day in style are just a few taps of a keyboard and click of a mouse away. Bruce Hopman, founder of the International Middle Child Union, joined "Nathan & Bernie in the Morning" to talk about how middle children across Acadiana and throughout the country will celebrate the most unanticipated day of the year.

A number of resources, including a YouTube video that features 101 famous middle children, as well as a flag, a pledge, and membership cards, are available at the website, Smack Dab Blog.

Greeting cards and profile icons will be made available on the site soon, Hopman said.

Middle Child's Day, which will take place Aug. 12, may be moved to July 2 because absolutely no one knows when the day is to begin with, "and who's going to care if we change it," Hopman said.
