MidSouth Bank is expanding it roots in Lafayette Parish. Just a little more than a month after announcing it was doubling its presence in the Baton Rouge area, they plan to open a new location in October in Carencro - across the street from the U.S. Post Office on Veterans Boulevard.

MidSouth Bank President/CEO Rusty Cloutier says they are "very excited" to be able to move roughly halfway between its Moss Street and Opelousas locations.

It's one of the fastest-growing areas in Lafayette (Parish). We are a big supporter of Lafayette North and know what's happening up there...extremely excited about getting this new location as part of the MidSouth system.

The Carencro branch will be a 1,400-square-foot facility with two teller walk-ups and three drive-thru lanes. Carencro native Yvette George-Bernard will lead the new location as its Assistant Vice President/Banking Center Manager. She spent a decade as Bank Officer and Banking Center Manager for MidSouth's Moss Street location as its Assistant Vice President/Banking Center Manager before working the last four years as AVP/dual branch manager for Regions Bank's South College Road and Moss Street locations. Cloutier says they've got "a great manager" in Yvette George-Bernard. She says she's happy to be back home.

It's exciting and rewarding to return to MidSouth Bank and be a part of its expansion into my home town. I am looking forward to reconnecting with my MidSouth Bank customers and developing new banking relationships with my friends and business associates throughout the Carencro community.

Cloutier says, "a bank to lend money is very important to any community's growth prospects" and they look forward to playing a key role in the continued growth of Carencro.

We want to talk to every person, consumer...businessman in the community and see if we can't help put some more money in the community. We're coming in to put money in the community, to make good loans and try to help build a community.
