PEARL RIVER, La. (AP) — State police say a 51-year-old Mississippi woman has been charged in the death of a 42-year-old woman she struck in her pickup truck when she drove down the wrong lanes on Interstate 59.

State police say Carol Henly of Picayune, Miss., was charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving. Troopers said they suspected her of being impaired. Toxicology results are pending.

Troopers say Henly entered the northbound lanes of I-59 and traveled south against oncoming traffic at about 1 a.m. Saturday and collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Brenna Barnes of Hammond, La.

Barnes was wearing a seatbelt but died of fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at LSU University Medical Center in New Orleans. Henly received moderate injuries.
