Mitigation Hearing Next Week

Dealing with the aftermath of hurricanes Rita, Gustav and Ike have been difficult for many home and property owners all across South Louisiana, particularly in the smaller communities.  An informational committee meeting will be held next week to give residents in Vermilion Parish more information.

Erath is the location of next week's Select Committee on Hurricane Recovery meeting chaired by State Senator Karen Peterson to address ongoing storm recovery issues. Officials will update people on the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, including information on Fema paid for elevation and mitigation programs. There is also Community Development Block Grant money available. The meeting will be at the Erath Community Center on City Park Drive next Thursday afternoon at 4.
