The state senate approves legislation that provides benefits to the families of 32 Louisiana National Guard soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Livonia Senator Robert Marionneaux says the bill will cost the state eight million dollars during tough budget times, but that should not keep the state legislature from approving this legislation. The bill by Benton Senator Robert Adley grants $250,000 to the families of a national guard soldier that was killed in action and $100,000 to a solider who is totally disabled. Adley says his measure provides the benefits to all national guard members who lost their lives since 9-11. (The meaure now heads to the House,)
