Monroe Firefighters Union Leader Arrested On Theft Charge

MONROE, La. (AP) — A former district chief for the Monroe Fire Department has been arrested on charges he stole about $80,000 from the firefighter’s union.

The News-Star reports 52-year-old Timothy Dickerson, of Monroe, was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on a felony theft charge.

According to an arrest warrant, on Aug. 22, investigators with Monroe police received a complaint from the union.

The union stated Dickerson had served as secretary-treasurer of the union for 25 years. The complaint stated a new treasurer conducted an audit of the union’s finances, which could only date back to 2006, and determined Dickerson had been stealing from the union.
