Morgan City Man Arrested After Failing To Register As Sex Offender

A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputy patrolling the Amelia area Friday night conducted a traffic stop after seeing a vehicle speeding on Highway 182.

The deputy started to interview Eddie Brown IV when he found out that Brown did not have a drivers license.  The deputy says Brown's ID had been changed to hide his sex offender status.

Brown was taken to the St. Mary Parish Jail to be booked on the traffic offenses, and for his failure to register as a sex offender or child predator.

The man was later released on a $10,000 bond.
