Morgan City Man Arrested For Attempted Second Degree Murder

A Morgan City man was detained and then arrested at a Circle K convenience store in Morgan City Thursday night after a woman alleges that the man stabbed her several times.

Morgan City Police were called out to the Circle K at Highway 182 and Grizzaffi Street after a woman, who was hurt, showed up and asked for help.

Officers found the woman in the restroom, and 35-year-old Ashraf Khalil being restrained.

The woman told deputies that Khalil, her acquiantence, stabbed and cut her after they had some type of altercation in Terrebonne Parish, and then he drove her to the Morgan City store.

Police arrested Khalil on a charge of attempted second degree murder, and his is in the Morgan City Jail until he is transported Terrebone Parish.
