Equipment to raise flood protection levels are being gathered in Morgan City to help protect more than thirteen thousand residents and businesses on the unprotected side of the sea wall.  Mayor Tim Matte has been meeting this evening with parish and emergency officials to discuss their plan of action to protect Morgan City.  Matte tells KPEL News the predicted river crest of nine and a half feet will put the entire waterfront area under water.  The potential opening of the Morganza Flood-way could bring water beyond the protection system.
