Morganza Spillway Will Open: Morgan City Prepares[Audio]

KPEL News has learned the Morganza Spillway is expected to open in about six days by the Corp of Engineers.  That's what both Iberia and St. Mary Parish Officials tell KPEL's Suzanne Ferrara.  Morgan City Mayor Tim Matte says that means the nine and half foot crest in Morgan City is expected to rise to twelve or even thirteen feet.  Flood gates are already being closed along the waterfront.  Listen to KPEL's Suzanne Ferrara's interview with Mayor Matte on the latest preparations for Morgan City.
