Morse Man Charged With Felony Carnal Knowledge Of A Juvenile

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon says 25-year-old Travis John Benoit was arrested and charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Investigators say Benoit was arrested after a complaint came in that Benoit had some sort of sexual contact with a 16-year-old on August 4.

Detectives say Benoit first made contact with the juvenile via social media, and then there was a meeting between the two at a parking lot in the parish.

Benoit is behind bars, and his bond has been set at $100,000.

Benoit lives in the 100 block of Oran Street in Morse.
