As we wrap up another year, BabyCenter has released its annual list of the most popular baby names for 2015.

This year saw the same top three names for the third year in a row as Sophia, Emma and Olivia topped the list for girls while Jackson, Aiden and Liam earned the top honors for boys.

As a matter of fact, the entire list is just about the same as last year's, minus a few changes in position. There were also five notable trends when it came to naming children in 2015.

"Royalty" was a common theme with names like King, Princess, Tiara; and even the actual name Royalty, seeing a 90% increase. Gender neutral baby names (Maxwell, Piper etc.) saw an uptick along with celestial names like Venus, Soleil, Sunny and Stella—which means "star."

The most interesting trends are the baby names inspired by the hit show "Empire," and for the first time ever technology broke through as a source of name inspiration with babies being named after Instagram filters.

Lux, Reyes, Hudson, Juno and many of our other favorite filters were hot in 2015 and continue to rise in popularity.

Photo-sharing is a daily and emotional part of Millennials’ lives, and those two ingredients can trigger love for a name.

The rankings for 2015 are based on the names of over 340,000 babies born in 2015 to parents who registered on the BabyCenter website. Alternative spellings and names that sound the same have also been combined.
